Hearthsome is an editorial site about the small stuff that runs a home — pets, beauty rituals, family gear, and what's on the stove. We publish practical guides and honest product recommendations for the things we actually use.

What we do

We write long-form guides that try to answer the question a real person would type into Google — "how do I get my cat to stop scratching the sofa," "what kind of harness for a dog that pulls" — and we link to the products we'd reach for if we were solving the problem ourselves.

Hearthsome is run by a small team that also operates a handful of specialty online stores:

How we choose what to recommend

Our standard is the same whether the product is from one of our stores or someone else's: would we actually buy this? If the answer is no, it doesn't go in the guide. Where a product from a partner store is the right fit, we'll say so plainly. Where it isn't, we link out to whatever actually solves the problem.
